On 6th of August, 2006 the traditional 66th edition of the Swim Marathon
Galata – Varna has been held. Along to the Bulgarian Black Sea coast at
the distance of 4.42 km, 172 domestic swimmers took part in the event.
The winner in men’s competition was Gueorgui Palazov and in woman’s
competition Nina Ranguelova. |

FINA Ohrid Swim Marathon 2006……
|
| The traditionally
20th FINA Cup Ohrid Swim Marathon on the Lake of Ohrid (FYROM) has
been held on Saturday, July 15 at the standard distance of 30 Km. The race
has been won from the intergalactic Bulgarian marathon swimmer – Mr.
Petar Stoychev. For the fifth time in his spectacular swim career the
BUL open water swim star won the Ohrid Lake event. Congratulations, men!
The second Bulgarian marathon swimmer in Ohrid – Tihomir Ivantchev was
ranked fifth. |

open water swimmer ever Mr. Petar Stoychev wishes to break the world
record of the English Channel swim across. The phenomenal athlete plans
to face off that new challenge during the month of August (16-23) this
year. The sponsor of that spectacular event is the biggest Bulgarian Mobile
operator “M-Tel”. The first person to swim the Channel was Matthew Webb
in 1875. For a month the world OWS celebrity will be prepared in the town
in Sandansky (BUL) announced Stoychev itself prior to the rest 12 FINA
Open Water events to the end of 2006. Good luck, man! |

Bulgarian swimming star Mr. Petar Stoytchev has finished fifth on the first
FINA Open Water event this year – being held on the Parana River (ARG)
– at the distance of 88 km. The second attending Bulgarian marathon swimmer
Mr. Tihomir Ivantchev has been ranked seventh. Congratulations! The next
stop is Rosario (ARG) on 19th February – 21 km. We keep our fingers crossed! |

Lifeguard drew up the Holly Cross in Varna...
|
| In Sofia,
Ivo
Steftchev (20-year old swimmer), drew up the Holly Cross on Epiphany,
in the traditional open water swimming event been held upon the patronage
of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church. In the City of Varna the Holly Cross
has been picked up by Anguel Avramov 31-year old lifeguard. In Bourgas
and Rousse the ritual has been canceled considering the local bad weather.
The thousands of the Bulgarians have supported this traditional ceremony
across the country. |

Water Series 2005 Ivanka Moralieva (BUL) finished at the third place.
Congratulations again! Regrettably this fantastic success doesn’t find
a proper response among the Bulgarian Medias. FBSS makes an effort to present
the achievement of this worthy and unostentatious marathon women swimmer.
To realize it – Ivanka Moralieva answers some of the author’s questions.
This young lady speaks briefly and to the point. After the end of her spectacular
swim career Ivanka Moralieva would like to show her ambition to become
a swim coach. However in this moment, the first immediately goal is the
BUL State Championships. |

Ohrid Marathon on July 15, 2006...

According to FYROM’s mass-media the next Ohrid FINA Open water swimming
marathon will be held on 15th of July 2006. The first Ohrid marathon has
been organized in 1962. Then the women winner is the legendary Atina Bojadzhi
(born at the same place) – the first Yugoslav women who swam across la
Manche (the Channel). The length of the marathon is 30 km and is named
“Klime Savin”... |

flies to first marathon swim win...
|
ATLANTIC CITY - Petar Stoytchev
has traveled the world to collect wins in open water swimming. Just this
year alone, the FINA Marathon Swimming World Cup leader won in Argentina,
Serbia, Italy and Canada. But there's been a place where he hadn't been
able to win, and that was Atlantic City (USA). He won in the 40th annual
Atlantic City Around the Island Marathon Swim, a 22 1/2-mile race around
Absecon Island. The rough surf in the Atlantic Ocean wasn't going to stop
him and in Stoychev's fifth attempt, he won the event in 7 hours, 24 minutes,
12 seconds. He even celebrated by changing his stroke to butterfly for
the final few yards. |

first words after the race: "I won other places in the world, but I kept
missing this victory," said Stoychev, who finished third last year and
second the year before. "I'm happy to finally win here" |

Stoytchev wins Canada for the 3rd time...
|
Petar Stoytchev the Bulgarian swim legend, after winning
the 51st "Traversée du Lac Saint-Jean" (32k), valid as the 9th Fina
Open Water leg, on Saturday 6th of August, in the next leg of the 2005
Fina Marathon Swimming World Cup took place in Lac Magog (40k), in Quebec,
Canada. The Bulgarian, who leads the general standings of the tournament,
won this race for the third consecutive year. Ivanka Moralieva among women
touched to the bronze. Following are the leading results: |

The BUL Open water super-star Petar Stoytchev
has been placed second the 19th FINA Ohrid (FYROM) Swimming Marathon. Gilles
Rondy (FRA) won the marathon on Saturday with a time of 5h23:58. The Dutch
Edith van Dijk won the women's contest in a time of 5h26:06. The Bulgarian’s
princess of the waves – Ivanka Moralieva finished second. The next
FINA Swim Marathon will be held in Sabac (SCG) on 26 of June 2005. |

Mike No.1 in USA, Stoytchev took Parana (ARG)
The greatest Bulgarian swim star in the present Mike
Alexandrov has been nominated as No.1 in the USA Championships
of the colleges. The team of Evanston won against the team of Iowa
thanks to BUL swim pearl. Alexandrov won three first places. |
Meanwhile the other BUL swim phenomena Petar Stoytchev
won the 88-km Marathon race in the river of Parana (ARG). The BUL swim
machine after the three FINA Open water events is now ranked the second
with 31 points. The first is the Stoytchev’s main concurrent Stephen Gomes
(FRA) with 41 points. Ivanka Moralieva
